Registration and Required Information
During registration, you’ll need to provide the following information:
- Vehicle Information: Plate number, category, and code.
- Driver Information: Traffic file number, name, mobile number, and email.
Importance of Paying Fines Promptly
It’s advisable to clear your traffic fines promptly rather than waiting until it’s time to re-register your vehicle, as outstanding fines must be paid in full before you can complete the registration process. Paying fines as they occur can prevent the shock of a large bill later on.

According to the Government of Dubai, “To maintain and regulate high standards in traffic control, fines and penalties are imposed for road violations and driving offenses in Dubai. It is essential for drivers to be familiar with these rules and the available modes of payment.”
One of the latest payment methods is mPay, a mobile payment channel provided by Dubai eGovernment, offering a convenient way to pay fines using your mobile phone.

How to Appeal a Traffic Fine
If you wish to appeal a traffic fine, you must visit the customer service section of Dubai Traffic Prosecution, located behind Dubai Police Headquarters. There, you can fill out an appeal form, provide the reasons for contesting the fine, and submit your ID.
Appeal Process
- The appeal process typically takes 2-3 weeks.
- If your appeal is successful, the fine will be canceled immediately.
- If fined directly by the police for an accident that you believe was not your fault, you can file a similar appeal at the respective police station.
